Våffelstugan - the waffle hut

Våffelstugan is located at 820 meters above sea level and is open both in summer and winter.

Directions: Våffelstugan is located at the top of Mossaruten mountain, on the other side of Lake Lofssjön. You can reach it by snowmobile, cross-country skis, or snowcat. The snowcat departs from Västvallen. In the summer, there is a hiking trail with a quiz route, and it is also possible to cycle up the Stenrutsleden trail.

During the day, Våffelstugan offers simple lunches such as soup and hot sandwiches, as well as delicious waffles. Enjoy a crispy waffle with spectacular views over the mountains. Larger groups can book Våffelstugan for dinners and celebrations.

Every Thursday evening during the winter, Våffelstugan offers a special dining experience with high-quality food featuring local ingredients like bear, cloudberries, moose, and reindeer. Guests are also entertained with fascinating stories about bears and the history of Lofsdalen. After dinner, it is possible to soak in a hot tub and stay overnight in wilderness huts – advance booking is required.
