Trail 2 - Glötdalsvallen

Blue hiking trail
Length - 8,8 km
Time - 3 timmar
Start: Trail hub Hovärksparkeringen

A charming moderate hike from the deep valley to the foot of the mountain Hovärken that can get a little heavy on the way home.

A lovely hike where you get to experience forest, bogs and pure bare mountains under the same route. You walk on a well-marked path along the foothills of Hovärken to dive into the forest at the back towards Glötdalsvallen. When you come down, it is well chipped over the cloudberry ants, where during the berry season there is usually a lot of cloudberries if it is a cloudberry year.

Feel free to bring a small berry bucket to enjoy cloudberries during coffee when you arrive at Glötdal ́n. Along members you will also cross Glötån which has a nice brook trout stand, take the opportunity to fill the bottled water with the cold water that is better than all the mineral water together.

Here, some of the Glöte residents went to give the cows green pasture during the summer months. There they lived all summer with the animals that came into the farm in the evenings to be milked, so that they could make both cheese & butter! When the hike back starts, remember to look a little extra for our rich wildlife, compete with each other for how many bird species you see or which of them can find the most different animal droppings. This means that the ascent up to Hovärken does not feel so mastic.
